Dentures are a versatile treatment option for those who need several, or all of their teeth replaced. Unlike dentures from fifty years ago, modern dentures are comfortable, reliable, and natural-looking. From full dentures to partial ones, we are proud to offer a wide variety of options!
If you are missing several, or all of your teeth in a dental arch, you may need dentures. Thankfully, modern dentures are more secure and natural-looking than ever before. Dentures can enhance your smile and restore your ability to eat and speak normally.
If you are missing just one or two teeth, we may recommend another treatment. Implant-supported crowns and dental bridges are both excellent options for replacing just one or two teeth.
What Types of Dentures Do You Offer?
Dentures come in all shapes and sizes. There are full dentures, partial dentures, implant-supported dentures, and removable dentures. With so many varieties, there is something for everyone. During your consultation, Dr. Desatnik will explain your options and help you decide which treatment to move forward with.
What Are Full Dentures?
Full dentures replace all of the teeth in a dental arch. We use these devices to restore all or most of a patient’s teeth. Depending on a patient’s medical history and oral health, they can choose from either removable dentures or implant-supported dentures.
Removable dentures are a more economical option. They are made from plastic and mimic your natural teeth and gum tissue. Most modern dentures like this are held into place by a suction that naturally occurs when placed over the gums. However, this may not be reliable in some cases. If your dentures move around too much, Dr. Desatnik may recommend using a specialized glue to hold them in place.
Implant-supported dentures are the strongest and most natural-feeling option available. For this treatment, Dr. Desatnik will surgically attach implants to your jawbone along the dental ridge. Once they have healed, he will place your new dentures onto the implant posts. Implants are sturdy and take the pressure off of your gums and bone.
What Are Partial Dentures?
If you need several, but not all of your teeth replaced, we recommend partial dentures. Partial dentures can be held in place with implants, or with a metal framework. Although implant-supported partial dentures provide the most support, not everyone is a candidate for this procedure. During your consultation, Dr. Desatnik will examine your jawbone and mouth structures to determine if implant surgery is right for you. Partial dentures are a perfect solution for those who are missing several teeth in a row.
What Is a Denture Reline?
With traditional dentures, your mouth and gum line will shift over time. If your dentures don’t fit as well as they used to, or are uncomfortable, we can do a denture reline to make adjustments. For this procedure, we take impressions of your mouth and craft a new lining in our on-site lab. This lining will improve the fit and feel of your device.
